The red band trailer of Friends With Benefits starring Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis is up on the internet. Since we’re not talking about the health care type of benefits, you have to verify that you’re 18 to get a sneak peek. The Papervore is slated to be featured in a scene at the main character’s place of work. He doesn’t have any lines.

We’re currently mocking up the Joister desk lamp. The shade came together nicely, and shows light through the perforations. When an idea works, everyone is happy. Lunch even tastes better afterwards. True story.

With the help of Kontraptionist, aka Andy Baker, we’ve taken production of the Insect Chair to the next level. We can now take reclaimed exotic lumbers, and set them up for automated manufacture with a 3-axis CNC router. This will help us reduce cost and meet orders more quickly. So keep them coming!
If you’re in need of fabrication, prototyping, engineering, CNC milling, or generally anything that is too complicated for your brain, we can’t recommend Andy enough. Lucky for us, he’s right across the alleyway from our studio. Check him out.
We’ve been quiet for a little while. We’re hard at work on several new pieces to supplement the already successful Papervore. We’d heard from numerous people that just showing pictures of the Papervore didn’t quite convey the magic. So we made this little video to show just what happens when you leave clutter all over it. It gets mad!
The Papervore is now available at Voos furniture in Brooklyn.

Here you have it. This is actually the first picture of the finalized Papervore coffee table. Look at the beautiful form, the wood detailed handle, the mahogany shelf, the three remarkably handsome gentlemen standing behind it. Those guys are us. Blue ribbon not pictured.
The Papervore will be on display in the Design Within Reach window at 20th and Broadway through the end of ICFF May 19th. Check it out if you’re in the area. We hope you like it as much as we do.

We made NOTCOT!!! It’s what we’ll tell our kids one day, and they’ll be like “What’s a NOTCOT or the internet?” Then there will be an awkward silence, and we’ll just go back to being robots.
DWR M+D+F reception was great. We were in great company and amongst designers like Uhuru, whom we admire. Stay tuned for pictures.
